Watching a recorded show or the live TV
buffer gives you controls "like a VCR." In some respects, PTV is better.
Some features allow you to playback shows from different points without
needing to play "fast-forward, watch, and wait." PTV is also a replacement
interface for changing channels, which is why being able to quickly jump
to favorite and recent channels is handy. Overshoot correction occurs after
fast-forwarding; your PTV rewinds (backs up) a little to account for reaction
time.
